Xiaomi, one of the biggest Chinese smartphone manufacturers, just announced the first two models of its Xiaomi Mi CC series. The announcement was made on Xiaomi’s Weibo profile. The company officially confirmed that the names of the two new smartphones will be Xiaomi Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e. The launch of the first device, the Xiaomi CC9, will take place on July 2, in Beijing, China.
The motive behind the name of the series is still unknown. There have been many speculations as to what CC stands for, but Xiaomi has yet to make any comment. However, Lei Jun, Xiaomi CEO, explained during an interview that he gave earlier this month that the two models are designed for young and creative people.
Earlier this week, on Monday, June 24th, GSM Arena posted a report on the new CC series. According to the tech portal, the brand new Xiaomi devices will only be available on the Chinese market, while the company’s other awaited smartphones, the Redmi K20, and K20 pro, will be launched on the Indian market.
Xiaomi Mi CC Series – Technical Specs
Even though Xiaomi has yet to divulge any information regarding the specifications of the new devices, online leaks managed to reveal some details about the Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e models.
Xiaomi Mi CC9 will run on an MIUI 10 software based on Android Pie.
The smartphone will sport an f.39-inch full-HD AMOLED display and will be powered by the Snapdragon 730 Soc. The battery is also pretty impressive, with 4,000 mAh. The device will also feature a triple camera arrangement, having a 48MP Sony IMX586 camera, a 16MP secondary camera, and a 12MP third camera. The front selfie camera will have a 32 MP sensor.
On the other hand, Xiaomi Mi CC9e will have a smaller 5.97-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 710 Soc. This model will also have a triple camera arrangement on the rear side, with a 48MP Sony IMX582 sensor, 8MP secondary sensor and 5MP sensor camera setup. The front camera will also have a 32 MP sensor. The battery is slightly less powerful than the CC9, with 3,500 mAh.
