Pokemon GO Adds Armored Mewtwo into Raid Battles On July 10

Get ready to see the Legendary Pokemon Mewtwo next week. With the CG remake of the first Pokemon movie – Mewtwo Strikes Back: Evolution, Niantic is releasing Armored Mewtwo in the Raid Battles. However, make sure you defeat it, as it will only appear in five-star Raids on July 10 and will only be available until July 31.

You can fight the Armored Mewtwo on July 10, starting with: 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET / 9 PM BST. That’s when the current Legendary, Groudon will also leave the game. So far, we don’t know the Armored Mewtwo’s stats, but it’s definitely the first time he makes an appearance in this version in a Pokemon game.

You can also transfer him and the other Pokemon you’ve caught so far in the Pokemon Home cloud service which is set to be launched next year. That’s where you will be able to store the entire collection of Pokemon!

Expect to see some Mewtwo items in the Pokemon Go’s Style Shop.

As for how the Armored Mewtwo will look in Go, here’s the official trailer:

Other Pokemon Go Events

In the meantime, until Armored Mewtwo shows up, you can still fight Groudon in five-star Raid Battles. You will also be able to encounter Groudon and Kyogre through this month’s Field Research tasks.

Apart from the two legendaries, you can also catch Shiny male Nidoran which was released together with the Pokemon Go Fest event (Dortmund, Germany) and the Shiny Alolan forms are also available to catch, these having been released as a celebration to Pokemon Go’s third anniversary.

On July 21, you will be able to get Mudkip, during the Pokemon Go Community Day. If you can upgrade this Water-type starter from Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire into the final form – Swampert, up to an hour after the event ends, it will learn an exclusive move. The day also comes with the usual buffs to XP and rewards when capturing Pokemon.
