One of the best things about using an Android powered smartphone is the fact that you will always be the first one to access all of Google’s latest updates. For those who aren’t aware, Google is known for constantly pushing out software updates for its most important apps and Google Play Services is the latest one to be updated. With that said, today we are going to cover everything there is to know about Google Play Services’ latest update which has been released earlier this morning.
Google Play Services 17.7.85 Update
The first thing that we want to mention about the new Google Play Services update is that it sports the 17.7.85 version number. Google’s developers are rolling out the update via OTA (over the air) channels to all Android fans who are keeping their smartphones connected to a stable Wi-Fi network, but this isn’t the only way to download it.
The alternative method of downloading the new Google Play Services update is to manually download and install it in the form of APK. This is a special update format and the APK acronym stands for “Android Package Kit”. The tricky part about installing this type of updates is that they are compatible with only smartphones that have the “Unknown Sources” option enabled.
What’s New?
Now that we have covered the two methods of downloading the new update, let’s go ahead and see what are the “goodies” that it introduces. Android fans should be pleased to find out that the new update for Google Play Services comes with a bunch of bug fixes.
The new bug fixes are taking care of various issues that sometimes caused Android powered smartphones to lag and fortunately, this is not going to happen anymore. Therefore, we are advising all Android fans to download the new update as soon as possible.
