Having connection issues on Hearthstone? Here’s are some workarounds.
Hearthstone (from Blizzard) is a crossplatform online game, which requires stable internet connectivity to function at optimum capacity.
However, there have been instances of connection errors, in which case, players are unable to connect and play the game on their respective devices.
If you’re encountering these issues, herein are some credible workarounds for you.
How to Fix Connection Issues on Hearthstone
These connection issues are particularly notorious on Android smartphones. Anyway, should you encounter a connection issue while playing (or trying to play) Hearthstone on your device, below are some troubleshooting methods to employ (and apply):
Method 1: Restart Device
One of the several ways of troubleshooting internet connection issues on mobile phones (and even PCs) is to restart your device.
Thus, proceed to force close Hearthstone; disconnect internet; restart device; reconnect internet; and relaunch the game. If the connection issue persists after this, you can try connecting over a different Wi-Fi or mobile internet network (if one is available).
Still can’t connect to Hearthstone? Try the next troubleshooting method.
Method 2: Reset Account
If, after troubleshooting your internet network, you’re still finding it difficult to connect to the game, your device’s internet connectivity/network is probably not the problem. In this case, you’d have to troubleshoot the app/game itself.
For a start, try and reset your Blizzard account’s password. To do this;
- navigate to Blizzard login page;
- select Can’t log in? > I don’t know my password;
- key in your email address;
- press Continue; and
- follow the prompt commands to finish up.
Now, try reconnecting to the game. If the issue persists, try the next method.
Method 3: Clear cache (Android)
To do this:
- go to Settings;
- tap on Application Manager / Apps;
- Select Hearthstone > Storage; and
- tap on Clear cache.
Relaunch the game and try connecting again.
Method 4: Reinstall Game
Firstly, you have to uninstall the game from your device, as described below:
For Android:
- go to Settings;
- Select Apps > Hearthstone > Uninstall; and
- confirm uninstallation.
For Windows:
- launch the Battle.net app on your PC;
- click on Hearthstone’s icon;
- select Options > Uninstall.
Subsequently, reinstall the game from Play Store (Android) or via the Battle.net app (for Windows). It should now connect fine.
