Streaming photos and videos on your TV is not as hard as it may seem. If you have never done it before, but you want to try it out, here is a short guide to help you connect your Android device to your TV.
How To Connect Your Smartphone To Your Smart TV
Wi-Fi Direct
Wi-Fi direct is one of the easiest ways to hook up your phone to your smart TV. Here are the steps you need to follow:
- Enable Wi-Fi Direct on your TV
- Open the content you want to share on your smartphone or tablet
- Tap the share button and choose the Wi-Fi Direct option
- Your TV will show up on the list of available devices
Bluetooth
Connecting your phone to your smart TV through Bluetooth only works for audio files. If you want to use a platform like Spotify, then this is the best choice. Turn on the Bluetooth on both devices and connect them. Now, your audio should start playing on your TV.
Google Chromecast
This device will help you broadcast content from your device directly on your smart TV. You only need the Google Home app, and you are good to go. You can install the app from the Play Store. Next, plug the Chromecast into the HDMI port of your TV. Then, go to the app’s menu, select Cast Screen/Audio, tap on the blue button and select the device you’d like to connect to.
Cable Connection (MHL)
If all else fails, a direct connection between your smartphone and smart TV should do the job. Because HDMI cables can’t usually be connected to phones, as they don’t have the right port for them, you will need an MHL cable.
