The catch is that not all Waze users are eligible to download the new update. The only Waze users who can access the new update via OTA (over the air) channels are those who are enrolled in the beta program.

The new update for Waze doesn’t introduce any new features and instead, it comes with an important bug fix. “Saving time and avoiding traffic is even easier with this update. A new bug has been fixed that didn’t highlight the route for some Android Auto users,” said the developers of Waze in the patch notes.
