Google Play Services is updated on a regular basis with software improvements and the reason behind this is that Google Play Services is one of the most important components of the Android operating system. With that being said, Android fans shouldn’t be shocked to find out that Google Play Services has just been updated earlier today. The update sports the 18.7.19 version number and Google is rolling it out via OTA (over the air) channels.
Google Play Services 18.7.19 Update
As previously noted, the new update for Google Play Services is changing the build number to 18.7.19. Since the update is being rolled out via Google’s official OTA channels, the only thing that Android fans need to do in order to download the new update is to simply keep their smartphones connected to a stable Wi-Fi network and to wait for the update to arrive in their notification panels.
What’s New?
Google Play Services is a background app and therefore, the new update doesn’t come with any new features or visible UI (user interface) changes. Instead of introducing new features, the latest update for Google Play Services comes with a handful of bug fixes and software improvements that have been specially created to enhance the overall performances of the Android operating system.
What Does Google Play Services Do?
Even though Google Play Services is such an important component of the Android operating system, there are still many people who have no idea what this service does on their smartphones. However, we are going to explain the role of Google Play Services right now.
Google Play Services is used to automatically update Google apps from the Google Play Store. Not just that, but Google Play Services also provides core functionality such as authentication to Google services, synchronized contacts and access to all the latest user privacy settings.
