Something that might affect the popularity of the messaging service happened recently and we would like to talk to you about it.
A competitor announced some big and exciting new updates
It’s a well known fact that WhatsApp has a lot of great competition. Telegram, a pretty popular messaging service made an announcement and let us know that some new amazing updates have been introduced.
Some of the new features introduced by Telegram
First of all, one of the greatest new feature is the Silent Messages one . Basically, the users will be able to send a text that won’t disturb in any way the person that will receive it. The note will be sent without audio, it won’t make any sound even if the notifications are not on mute. This feature is available on group chats as well.
Another feature is called Slow Mode. This can be used in group chats and here’s how it works. The admin of the group can choose to use this feature in order to maintain the conversation in order and away from the chaos that happens when the group members send a lot of messages one after another and people just can’t keep up. The people in the group chat will have the possibility of sending one message per a chosen interval. There will be a timer that will indicate how much you have to wait until you can send the following message.
Some other great features introduced by Telegram are the Animated Emoji and the Admin Titles.
That’s all we have for you. Will wait and see if Telegram has chances to become more popular than WhatsApp.
