It seems that we might get to see more devices from Apple this year. According to MacRumors’ Juli Clover, the programmer Steven Troughton-Smith found out that Apple is working on four models of iPads – iPad 11.1, iPad 11.2, iPad 11.3 and iPad 11.4. He wrote on Twitter the following:
“In theory, iOS 12.2 references four new iPads in WiFi & Cellular variants (perhaps mini, and 9.7″?), all without Face ID, and a (seventh-gen?) iPod touch with no Touch ID nor Face ID.”
He mentioned the iPod which could be 9.1 touch, but there are no other details. However, it still is a 7th gen iPod, along with a 9.7 inch iPad and an iPad mini. The fifth-gen iPad mini was rumored to be launched this year.
Moreover, Apple registered seven iPads with the Eurasian Economic Commission last week, four of them possibly being those reported by Troughton-Smith on Twitter. The model numbers are new, so we’ll see more from Apple soon.
New iPad and iPod Could Be Released in a Month!
Until now, we’ve seen a case leak for a device that has a vertical camera and four speakers – which could have been for an iPad mini. But a photo of an iPad mini that hasn’t yet been released shows an A9 processor and a design that looks similar to the fourth-gen iPad mini.
When will the iPod touch, the iPad mini, and the 9.7 Inch iPad be released? We hope they will come with the release of iOS 12.2. This means we could see them as early as the next month or at the beginning of March. Considering Apple has held the last annual events in the spring, this would not be a surprise.
