The release of the Edgium browser is almost here, and Microsoft could launch it at any time. In fact, there has been a thorough leak already and we had a chance to take a look at the upcoming browser.
However, it appears that Microsoft prepared something extra as well. A Microsoft Edge Insider extension was created and it will be out when the new browser for Insider will be launched. The extension will help Insider users find out what the latest features are, whether there are any issues, as well as other announcements.
The Edge Insider extension was created for Edgium. Nonetheless, it is very likely that the extension will work on the normal Microsoft Edge browser as well. In fact, the extension is already available on the Microsoft Store, where you can install it on your regular Microsoft Edge browser. Unfortunately, the extension was created for Edgium, which means that not all features work on Microsoft Edge as well. For instance, users won’t be able to see the version number. It remains to see whether Microsoft will refine the extension so it can have the same features for Microsoft Edge too.
Edgium channels
If we take a look at the listing for the Edgium extension, we also find out that the new Edgium browser will have three different channels. The list includes Edge Beta, Edge Dev and Edge Canary. At the moment we don’t know for sure how these channels will be different. We can take a couple of guesses based on their names, but no official information is available yet.
The Edgium browser should be released soon. Users who had a chance to try it out were impressed by the experience. Edgium promises to be a stable browser and the waiting period is almost over for Insiders.
