How to Install Movie Maker for Windows 8 and Windows 10

As you might know, you’re still able to use Movie Maker in Windows 8. However, after the launch of Windows 10, the program was replaced with the app Movie Moments. Microsoft has decided to leave out some of the features of Windows 10. One of them was Windows Movie Maker, which is that program that helped us in creating our own files with pictures or movies with certain effects.

Where can I get it?

There’s no Windows Movie Maker for Windows 10, but you can still download it and then install it on your computer. You can download it from free from the official Microsoft site, and it can be installed on any computer that’s running Windows 8, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10.

If you want to get it, you need to go to the official site of Microsoft and download the installer. It will be saved under the name of “wlsetup-web.exe” on your computer. If you run the file, it will install the NET Framework 3.5 on your computer. It’s crucial to get it if you want to install Movie Maker.

You can customize it: choose only the tools you need

After the process starts, you will see the Windows Live Essentials installer open, and then you’ll have to choose if you want to install some other features on your computer. There are two options available: install all the tools that are found in the package, or customize the installation as you wish, and only get those that you need. As we’re talking about Movie Maker, we advise you to go with the latter.

After you choose what to install, simply click on the “Install” button. After it’s all finished, click on “Close”. You don’t need much for this, except for a good internet connection.
