iPad Mini 5 (2019) – Everything You Should Know About The New Apple Tablet

Apple stirred up a lot of excitement after announcing its new iPad Mini 5 (2019). The announcement came as a surprise, especially because the last product in the iPad Mini series has been launched four years ago, in 2015. However, the interest in the model hasn’t faded.

Surprisingly, in terms of appearance, not much has changed between the 2015 iPad Mini model and the iPad Mini 2019 model. What changed, though, is the speed and performance. The iPad Mini 5 is also compatible with the first-generation Apple Pencil.

iPad Mini 5 (2019) – Display and Battery

The tablet is light, weighing only 300 g, and very slim, at 6.1 mm. Its small size is a big advantage, as it can easily be fitted in a bag without much of a hassle. The downside is that the tablet has big bezels around the 7.9-inch display.

When it comes to the color range, it is pretty standard for Apple. The iPad mini 5 is available in silver, space grey, and gold.

The most exciting feature added to this version of the iPad mini is the compatibility with the first generation of Apple Pencil. The instrument is super-responsive, featuring a 240 Hz pen touch refresh rate.

Although the tablet can’t give a full HDR effect, as its display cannot reach a high enough level of brightness, it still can play HDR and Dolby Vision Videos through Netflix and iTunes. The screen only has 520 cd/ m², too low for the 700cd/m² requirement for HDR 10. However, the display is still high-quality.

The battery is quite a disappointment. The iPad mini 5’s battery can only resist for 8h 21 min.
