Solution 1: Force close Facebook app and other apps running in the background
- Tap on your home button/left button/right button to display all apps running in the background
- Tap on the trash icon to close all running apps at once or close each running app by swiping left or right on each running app.
- Wait for 30 seconds
- Restart your device by holding down the power button and tapping on ‘Restart/Reboot.’
- Re-launch your Facebook Lite app.
Solution 2: Clear Facebook app data and cache
- Launch your device’s settings
- Scroll through to ‘Apps’ and tap on ‘Apps.’
- From the app list, search for ‘Facebook Lite.’
- Tap on ‘Facebook Lite’ to be directed to the info page
- On the info page, tap on ‘Storage.’
- Tap on ‘Clear Data’ to clear Facebook Lite’s app data and cache.
- Exit your device’s settings and re-launch Facebook Lite app.
Solution 3: Update Facebook Lite app
- Launch your device’s Google Play Store App
- On the Play Store’s main screen, tap on the menu icon (3 horizontal bars at the top-left)
- From the dashboard, tap on ‘My apps & games’ to display a list of apps needing an update.
- Locate ‘Facebook Lite’ and tap on the ‘Update’ button. Alternatively, tap on the ‘Update all’ button next to ‘Updates Pending’ to update all apps needing an update (Facebook Lite inclusive).
- Restart your device after completing the update and re-launch your Facebook Lite app.
Solution 4: Uninstall and reinstall Facebook Lite app
- Launch your device’s settings
- Scroll through to ‘Apps’ and tap on ‘Apps.’
- From the app list, search for ‘Facebook Lite.’
- Tap on ‘Facebook Lite’ to be directed to the info page
- Tap on ‘Uninstall’ remove Facebook Lite app from your device.
To reinstall the Facebook Lite App on your device,
- Launch your Google Play Store App
- Type’ Facebook Lite’ in the Play store search engine
- Tap on the search icon
- From the displayed search solution, tap on ‘Facebook Lite’ and tap on ‘Install’ to reinstall Facebook Lite app on your device.
- Tap on ‘Open’ to launch the Facebook Lite app.
